how to smoke taillights

Ok here it is, My simple how-to on tinting taillights

Step one. Clean them real well
Step two. Tape off anything you dont want tinted... Like reverse light area.

Step Three. Clean again. Make sure where you want the paint to go there is no oils from your hand.
Step four. Paint prep.

Step Five. Paint..... Start spraying about a foot and a half away and move closer till you start getting a light even coat on the housing. Spray the rest of the light at this level. Move around the light so you cover it evenly.
Here is one coat applied to a 2009 F-150 Taillight and third brake light housings

As you can see they stayed pretty glossy. I know its wet looking but even when dry it stays that way.

Here is the final product. He wanted them super dark so the gloss is not exactly there like the first set.

well after 7 more beers, i havent decided if I cant read or cant see, i read haedlights and see taillights, i am going to give up for the night and look again in the morning.

They do look bad ass though, if I didnt have the smoked recon ones then i would do this. ( to my taillights)

Good job on the tail lights! I was looking to find out how to tint the headlights though! lol Title needs to be changed Dave! hahahaha!

Tinting the head lights would be the same way. Clean them real well and just go real light on the tint. That way you dont kill you light output. I would go no darker then the first coat i did in the pictures on page one.
