Number: Defect Summary:CHRYSLER IS RECALLING 65,896 MY 2008-2009 LIGHT AND HEAVY DUTY DODGE RAM PICKUP TRUCKS. THE WINDSHIELD WIPER MODULE MOTOR ASSEMBLY MAY BE SUSCEPTIBLE TO WATER INTRUSION THAT COULD RESULT IN PARTIAL OR COMPLETE LOSS OF WINDSHIELD WIPING CAPABILITY.
Consequence Summary:WHEN THE WIPER SYSTEM FAILS, THE OPERATOR WILL HAVE REDUCED VISIBILITY WHICH COULD RESULT IN A CRASH. Corrective Summary DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE WIPER MODULE ASSEMBLIES WITH VENTED WIPER MOTOR HOUSINGS FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON AUGUST 17, 2009. OWNERS MAY CONTACT CHRYSLER AT 1-800-853-1403.

not just the 08's the 07's also have this issue,,they'll freeze up and quit working untill the engine warms them up

my dealer wont do fuck all about it,,a new wiper motor w/transmission is 158 bucks canadian bucks,,,i tolsd them i'll buy it and when i take the old one out and if it doesnt have the vents in it ,,then i'll be bitching,,they said oh well ..fuckers anyways its not just the 08-09's ,,,just for the recalls there good for ...

I got the same recall, but don't want to take my truck in for fear of them updating the ECM. Also a recall about steering.

They shouldn't touch it, I had my truck in for recall work with no DPF, no EGR, and they didn't say a word.
